Awarded each year to a living architect\/s for significant achievement,\u00a0<strong><em>Pritzker Architecture Prize\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>was established by the Pritzker family of Chicago through their Hyatt Foundation in 1979. It is granted annually and is often referred to as \u201carchitecture\u2019s Nobel\u201d and \u201cthe profession\u2019s highest honor.\u201d\u00a0The award consists of $100,000 (US) and a bronze medallion conferred on the laureate\/s at a ceremony held at an architecturally significant site throughout the world. It is more recently that they have received international accolades and ventured beyond the Spanish borders with projects in other European countries.<\/p>\n<p>Aranda, Pigem and Vilalta have participated in important exhibitions including the III Salon International de l\u2019Architecture in Paris in 1990; the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2000, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016; MoMA\u2019s\u00a0<em>On-Site: New Architecture in Spain<\/em>, New York, 2006;\u00a0<em>Global Ends<\/em>\u00a0at Toto Gallery MA in Tokyo, 2010; and\u00a0<em>RCR Arquitectes. <\/em><em>Shared Creativity<\/em>\u00a0in Barcelona, 2015 and Madrid, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>They have been invited to give more than 200 lectures throughout Spain and in foreign cities, and their work has been published at great length in books including \u201cRCR Aranda Pigem Vilalta Arquitectes. They have taught urbanism, landscape architecture and design studio at ETSAV from 1989-2001, and individually served as critics for diploma project juries at ETSAV and Escola T\u00e8cnica Superior d\u2019Arquitectura de Barcelona throughout the past two decades.
