In one of the countless talks, White Arkitekter<\/strong> made a statement saying that by the likes of 2030 every building that the company designs will be carbon neutral<\/strong>. \u201cAchieving zero-carbon architecture is the biggest challenge we have\u201d, <\/em>said Alexandra Hagen<\/strong> of White Arkitekter.<\/p>\n

Nike<\/strong> had the honor and pleasure to design the first-ever skateboarding kits in the sport\u2019s debut for the Olympics in Tokyo 2020<\/strong>, where colorful uniforms were, without doubt, a pleasant surprise. We also need to highlight Nike\u2019s Vaporfly<\/strong> trainers\u2019 permission to be at the event, however, the shoe that Eliud Kipchoge used to break the two-hour marathon record, Nike\u2019s Air Fly<\/strong>, will be banned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Gabriel Tan<\/strong> first visited Portugal<\/strong> back in 2014 as a tourist, he was fascinated by the craft of the country, and in turn wanted to bring this to the fore with new initiative Origin<\/strong>. This is the second collection for the brand, and this time he explores the connections between Scandinavia and Portugal. Nine projects from nine designers (six of which are Scandinavian) and seven Portuguese craftsmen come to fruition for this, in a range of fragrance sculptures, hairbrushes, vases, carafe<\/strong> and more.\u201d
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201c\u2019This is where our experiments materialize\u2019, <\/em>Petrus Palm\u00e9r<\/strong>, CEO and founder of the Swedish brand describes its Stockholm HQ<\/strong> that has been freshly redesigned by local practice Atelier Paul Vaugoyeau<\/strong> and the in-house design team. The decorative pieces are limited edition of 15. \u2018I focus my attention on projects that are long-lasting \u2013 those that reclaim materials and are engaged locally,\u2019 <\/em>Nordberg explains.\u201d

Gubi at Hotel Six<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe pop-up space on the ground floor of the Hotel At Six<\/strong> has always seen a space in which to showcase the best names in design, and for the second year running, Danish maestro Gubi<\/strong> has taken up residence. Alongside pieces from the existing collection (reupholstered in sheepskin), are a series of new travertine Epic Tables<\/strong> by long-standing Gubi collaborators Gamfratesi<\/strong> and new lighting and furniture by Danish duo Space Copenhagen<\/strong>, whose Wonder sofa<\/strong> is a contemporary take on 1970s lounge furniture<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Bouroullec Brothers & Iittala at Wetterling Gallery<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe roll call of creatives trekking to Iittala\u2019s glass blowing factory<\/strong> in remote Finland<\/strong> reads like a who\u2019s who of the design world. In 2014, Ronan<\/strong> and Erwan Bouroullec<\/strong> made the pilgrimage and produced Ruutu<\/strong> \u2013 a collection of large hand-blown vases. This year, they add a hollow cast, ceramic editions and 500mm glass editions to the family \u2013 all of which are on show at the Wetterling Gallery<\/strong>. The brothers also created hand-blown glass flowers to put in them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
