For more than 25 years, Sara Folch<\/strong><\/em>\u2018s interior design studio has designed hundreds of projects, being recognized not only by the present but the previous works for their clients. Each work is completely unique to the customer, each project is seen as a new opportunity to innovate, to try something new in response to their needs. We had the opportunity to speak with Sara Folch at Casa Decor Madrid 2020<\/em><\/strong>, where she told us about a bit of everything \u2013 her biggest influences<\/strong><\/em>, her project<\/em> for the event<\/em><\/strong>, sustainability<\/em><\/strong> in<\/strong><\/em> interior design<\/strong><\/em>, among other things. Sara Folch has been featured at Casa Decor Madrid for 15 editions now. Since back in the day, a lot has changed \u2013 with the years came remarkable experiences and now Sara Folch sees in Casa Decor part of her family. \u201cMy daughter was 6 weeks old in the first edition of Casa Decor I ever participated. She was always with me, through the whole process of space planning<\/strong> and execution<\/strong>\u201c,<\/em> Sara Folch tells us. \u201cEveryone working with me was having fun with her, even when she was crying\u201d,<\/em> she recalls with a smile.<\/p>\n

For the latest edition of Casa Decor Madrid, Sara Folch presented us with a new space she called \u201cLa Corte de Los Milagros\u201d<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>or The Miracle Field<\/strong> if you translate it. Almost like the beauty salon of the future, it is located in a brand new area of the house, \u201ca project that, thanks to the JUNG technology<\/strong>, transforms itself according to the users\u2019 preferences<\/strong>\u201c<\/em>. This new concept \u201cworks as a dressing room complement<\/strong>, a totally automated system you can control with your voice\u201d.\u00a0<\/em>The main goal for Sara was to create \u201ca harmonious, comfortable space where technology<\/strong> and craftsmanship <\/strong>meet each other, making way for a sensory experience through beauty sessions\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sustainability<\/strong> was the main theme for Casa Decor Madrid 2020<\/strong>. Sara Folch is a great advocate of sustainable design<\/strong>, stating that her projects, \u201cbesides being technological, are also linked with the whole renewable technologies\u2019<\/strong> concept\u201d<\/em>. \u201cBig tanks to water the gardens and recycled materials<\/strong> to produce furniture<\/strong> and lighting designs<\/strong>\u201c<\/em> are also part of Sara Folch\u2019s modus operandi.<\/p>\n

When asked about her secret for a successful career, Sara Folch does not hesitate \u2013 \u201cworking everyday with passion, learning from it and surpassing your own limits\u201d<\/em>. Sara believes every client is unique, so a distinctive project is what she is going for every single time. \u201cI find inspiration within classic architecture icons such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe<\/strong>, the German art school Bauhaus<\/strong>, among others, and, of course, my daily routine and quotidian experiences\u201d<\/em>. \u201cJean Nouvel<\/strong> and Bjarke Ingels<\/strong> in architecture, visual artist Lita Cabellut<\/strong>, fashion designer Pierpaolo Piccioli<\/strong> and multidisciplinary designer Neri Oxman<\/strong> are also very important for me\u201d<\/em>, Sara Folch concludes.<\/p>\n
