Le Grand Jardin<\/strong><\/em> is a private estate in the heart of the historic Stellenbosch<\/strong><\/em> (the signature residence of Wonderland Escapes<\/strong><\/em>, 50 km away from the city of Cape Town<\/strong><\/em>). Le Grand Jardin was a wedding gift for the daughter of the neighboring estate and was designed by a student of Sir Herbert Baker,<\/strong> <\/em>the most notable architect working in South Africa in the 1900s. This incredible project features a kid\u2019s bedroom<\/strong><\/em> made to enhance their creative minds. Featuring Rocky Rocket armchair<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>from Magical Furniture brand Circu<\/strong><\/em>, the decoration<\/strong> <\/em>makes a grand entrance in the room and promises to let kids explore their imagination and take them to the moon.<\/p>\n

Rooted in enchanting environments from the Cape<\/strong> and Argentinean Winelands<\/strong> to the Swiss Alps<\/strong> and Africa\u2019s pristine southern coastline,<\/strong> it offers a sense of space and wonder, where bold mountain peaks of the Helderberg<\/strong> in the heart of the color-changing vineyards, gentle rolling waves, secret gardens, glistening bodies of water and golden sunsets are gifts we delight in sharing.<\/p>\n

The inspiration behind this project draws on the restorative qualities of the expansive garden and surrounding vineyards. The garden<\/strong> served as an inspiration for the home\u2019s interior aesthetic<\/strong>. The walls of the double volume entrance hall, covered in De Gournay\u2019s wallpaper<\/strong>, act as an exuberant welcome and invitation to enjoy the garden that offers an intimate private world of escape.<\/p>\n

Artistry exists in the interplay of timeless heirlooms and sensual textures of copper<\/strong>, leather<\/strong>\u00a0and velvet<\/strong>, set against the playful use of color and craft. The manor house offers a more stately option with 3 en suite bedrooms<\/strong> and extensive entertainment areas<\/strong>, including the formal dining room<\/strong>, sexy blue gin bar<\/strong>, tasting room\/cellar<\/strong>, drawing room\/library\/study <\/strong>and media room.<\/strong> The pool pavilion<\/strong> with 3 en suite bedrooms opens onto the solar heated pool area with a summer room.<\/p>\n

When we walk through the home, the design immediately evokes memory with the hoots of night owls, nostalgic aromas of home-baked bread in the kitchen, and roses in the garden. You can see the influence of local materials<\/strong> as well as the use of arts<\/strong> and crafts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kids have curious minds and they like to be entertained during vacations. To make them explore and learn at the same time, Le Grand Jardin creates a special room just for them that screams fun times. Rocky Rocket<\/strong> makes a grand entrance in this room and promises to let kids explore their imagination and take them to the moon. With an RGB light and speakers, it was built using top-quality materials such as wood, being robust in design, and dreamy on the interiors, due to its red velvet upholstered walls and cushioned flooring.<\/p>\n

The moon rocket has become an iconic symbol for kids since it began to pop up across children\u2019s playgrounds<\/strong> during the 20th Century<\/strong> and the Space Age era. <\/strong>This interactive chair features an educational light<\/strong> and sound system<\/strong> to foster curiosity and excitement among kids.<\/p>\n
