FASHION DESIGNER TOMMY HILFIGER OPENS HIS FIRST HOTEL IN MIAMI<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 Following the footsteps of fashion brands Versace, Armani and Bulgari, fashion designer\u00a0Tommy Hilfiger<\/strong><\/em> opens his first hotel in Miami\u2019s South Beach \u2013\u00a0The Raleigh Hotel.<\/p>\n

\"FASHION<\/p>\n

The fashion mogul reportedly purchased the Raleigh Hotel for $70 million in 2014 and plans to turn the 109-room residence into a smaller membership-based luxury hotel. He has stressed that the hotel is a personal venture as opposed to a brand project, so the signature Hilfiger colours of red, white and blue will not necessarily feature in the design scheme.<\/p>\n

The boutique hotel will include 88 larger rooms, a spa, a health club and a restaurant. The cost of membership has not been confirmed, but the budding hotelier intends to price it above the neighbouring Soho Beach House\u2019s $2000 yearly fees. Members will have first priority on the rooms and the hotel\u2019s amenities.<\/p>\n

Renovations will begin at the end of this year and are estimated to take 18 months. In the meantime the hotel is open for reservations, with prices starting from $435 a night, but rates will increase following the re-design.<\/p>\n
