For years, the rise of China\u2019s economy coincided with a rise in the country\u2019s futuristic-looking architecture.<\/p>\n

\"1ARCHITECTURE \"2ARCHITECTURE<\/p>\n

With seemingly endless funding, architects were given free rein to design mind-bending structures, creating forms that were as odd as they were striking. Yet all that might be coming to an end. In a statement earlier this week, China\u2019s government announced that \u201cbizarre architecture that is not economical, functional, aesthetically pleasing, or environmentally friendly\u201d would be forbidden moving forward.<\/p>\n
