Starting September 17th<\/sup>, London will be transformed into an urban design mecca for the annual London Design Festival. Started in 2003, the festival attracts slews of top designers to the British city, either participating in or experiencing the hundreds of events and exhibits that take place all around the city. From design installations to the prestigious Decorex show, KOKET<\/a> explores the cr\u00e8me-de-la-cr\u00e8me of the UK design scene with the best of the London Design Festival<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"THE<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Green Room<\/strong> \u2013 The Victoria and Albert Museum, or V&A, has participated in the design festival for the last several years, and plans to continue this year with the Green Room. Created by design studio Glithero in collaboration with luxury watchmaker Panerai, a stairwell will be draped with long multi-color cords connected at the top by a rotating wheel. The result is a wave of moving color on multiple levels, aiming to change the perception of clock composition and time. Location: V&A Museum Sept 17th<\/sup> \u2013 25th<\/sup><\/em><\/p>\n

Regent Street Windows<\/strong> \u2013 For the seventh year, the Royal Institute of British Architects will fill the windows of Regent Street with striking installations. Various retail shop windows will feature eye-catching displays exhibiting the alluring creativity and ingenuity of architecture. Location: Regent Street Sept 13th<\/sup> \u2013 25th<\/sup><\/em><\/p>\n

Decorex International<\/strong> \u2013 The prestigious Decorex International design show celebrates the roots of design, hosted on the grounds of elegant Syon Park. Luxury brands from all around the world will gather to showcase the best of design complete with the famous Champagne Bar and seminars from elite design experts. KOKET<\/a> will be displaying a metallic wonderland titled Metal Rage <\/em><\/a>in Stand H38, featuring a handful of never-before-seen pieces that embody the punk chic metal theme. Location: Syon Park Sept 18th<\/sup> \u2013 21st<\/sup><\/em><\/p>\n

Brixton Design Trail<\/strong> \u2013 The London Design Festival\u2019s newest design district, Brixton Design Trail, offers a series of exhibits and installations by local artists. This year the trail\u2019s theme Rebel Rebel<\/em> pays homage to Brixton-born David Bowie with a showcase of boundary breaking design. 100% Design<\/strong> \u2013 A cornerstone of the London Design Festival, this award-winning design trade event exhibits hundreds of design professionals at the Olympia London. This year\u2019s theme, Experience<\/em>, demonstrates the role of design in the way we live and work. Location: Olympia London Sept 21st<\/sup> \u2013<\/em><\/p>\n

Designjunction<\/strong> \u2013 Designjunction will feature four hubs surrounding the Central Saint Martins art school, hosting luxury design brands ranging from furniture and lighting, to fashion accessories and textiles. Granary Square will feature pop-up immersive design concepts housed in red monopoly-like houses for design lovers to explore at ease, while interactive installations can be viewed within the colleges entrance. Location: Granary Square Sept 22nd<\/sup> \u2013 25th<\/sup><\/em><\/p>\n

The Smile<\/strong> \u2013 A landmark installation for this year\u2019s festival, the Smile is designed by architect Allison Brooks. The giant, curved structure, reminiscent of the curved lines of a smile, appears as if it would rock back and forth, but remains stationary. Guests can step inside the structure and walk to either end while dappled sunlight pours through the perforations in the wooden walls. Location: Chelsea College of Arts Sept 17th \u2013 25th\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

London Design Fair<\/strong> \u2013 Previously named \u201cTent London\u201d and \u201cSuper Brands London\u201d, the London Design Fair will feature roughly 450 design exhibitors from around the globe showcasing fresh and trending designs. Location: Old Truman Brewery Sept 22nd<\/sup> \u2013 25th<\/sup>.<\/em><\/p>\n
