We have to be very sensitive to that, so I wouldn\u2019t really say I\u2019m minimalist or maximalist. What I would say is really great today is that we can do modernism, classicism, maximalism, and in our projects, we\u2019ve been able to do a bit of everything\u2014which is fantastic. You can pick and choose and pull from different experiences and create something new that way. From the original stained-glass windows to the focus on the best of British art, those elements which were the essence of The Ivy\u2019s past interior remain. Originally called Temple Court and built in 1881 in the American Queen Anne style, the rich architectural history of the building guided the design of the hotel.
