The repositioning of One South Wacker consists of a bold re-design of the lobby, and a new hospitality-inspired amenity level featuring a double-height, glass-enclosed lounge with commanding views of the city and a grand, kinetic sculpture that celebrates the space\u2019s volume and natural light. Aspire is a 275-unit apartment development in Chicago\u2019s new McCormick Square, an entertainment district surrounding the city\u2019s convention center designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz<\/em><\/strong>. The interior design for the project uses elements inspired by the neighborhood\u2019s industrial past to create a backdrop for work created by the building\u2019s artist-in-residence, Canary Garcia.<\/p>\n

Concrete walls, brass-colored accents, factory-inspired fixtures, and a steely blue and grey color palette are accented by pops of warm, golden colors amid an eclectic mix of furnishings<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

303 EAST WACKER<\/span><\/h2>\n

Solomon Cordwell Buenz<\/strong><\/em> was engaged as the interior designer for the repositioning of 303 East Wacker, an office tower located on the Chicago<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong> River. The designers were challenged to transform two mechanical spaces on the 29th and 30th floors into a new tenant floor and amenity lounge.<\/p>\n

The design for the space was conceived as a modern interpretation of a 1970\u2019s vibe, borrowing cues from the era in which the building was designed and constructed, and merging them with more sophisticated clean lines<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong>. Designed with a distinct hospitality feel, the lounge features a light and classic finishes punctuated by saturated colors and a variety of textures. Sophisticated gestures such as a volumetric brass fireplace, glass, and wood screening elements, and bright graphic flooring form spaces that are both vibrant and inviting.<\/p>\n
