Interior designer Sasha Bikoff<\/strong> says that \u201cleather couches, apart from English-style Chesterfields, have got to go in 2017. Comfort and design can go hand in skill, and leather couches can sometimes be tacky and are easily stained. Not to mention, they are uncomfortable in the warm summer months. I would love to see more people taking a chance on sofas and couches with bright colors or printed fabrics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tiffany Fong<\/strong>, creative director of Capsule believes \u201cwe\u2019ve seen wooden, midcentury legs on everything from sofas to dining tables for years now, and I\u2019m looking forward to seeing more unexpected silhouettes incorporated into homes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Designer Shelley Johnstone<\/strong> says she\u2019s \u201cover spaces being too minimal and cold. I love the layers of fabrics, velvets, and wools, grasscloth and rattan creating texture and depth, and lacquered ceilings and the attention to detail. I want to see more rooms that are interestingly layered and comfortable without becoming fussy.\u201d<\/p>\n

CEO of Rapt Studio, David Galullo<\/strong> hopes \u201cthat the trend to replicate midcentury-modern spaces inch by inch in 2017 fades away\u201d. The designer believes that you should \u201cbuild a room around what you love from every year and a variety of styles. Life is too short and space too valuable to freeze it all in time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Designer Glenn Pushelberg<\/strong> stated that \u201cwe would be happy not to see any more white, loftlike, art gallery\u2013inspired, over styled interiors. What we do want to see is unhappier, more artistic expressions and richness in colors and materials.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interior designer Anne Hepfer<\/strong> \u201cwould love to see ombr\u00e9 be restored with beautiful printed fabrics and watercolor paintings, like these from Ferrick Mason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Famous interior designer, Jonathan Adler<\/strong> says that what we don\u2019t want to see in 2017 is \u201cpeople not making an effort. Moderation: It ain\u2019t a trend, but it is a blight!\u201d<\/p>\n

Designer Wesley Moon<\/strong> stated that the one trend she wants going is related to \u201cthat cheap-looking bright gold metal that\u2019s on every piece of new furniture. Old brass is great on antiques, but the trend of having a bright, shiny (yet somehow also matte) version of it on every new piece of furniture (often paired with lacquer, sometimes chevron patterns) is wearing very thin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Loren Kreiss<\/strong>, owner of Kreiss believes \u201cthe industry has been oversaturated with the grayed-out look. I would love to see the gray colors that have dominated wood finishes and fabrics move warmer and whiter in 2017. Customers are demanding more and more white, ivory, and \u2018white white.\u2019 These kinds of off-white finishes feel very current.\u201d<\/p>\n
