AIFF: The Highlights Of A Distinctive Design Tradeshow
AIFF, a unique tradeshow that happens every year in Melbourne (Australia), proved, once again, its importance to the design world. Oceania has definitely made an impression in what comes to home decor and now it’s time for us to tell you about what happened between the 19th and 22nd of July at the Australian International Furniture Fair. For 15 years, this design event has been inspiring us – let’s check it out.

Decor + Design, another design event in Melbourne, occurred in parallel with AIFF. Besides being an equally inspiring fair, it made the experience much more intense for decor lovers in Australia. A singular voice for the contemporary design panorama, Decor + Design has always been an obligatory stop.
In 2017, both shows attracted over 11,500 visitors from Australia and from other parts of the world, gathering more than 300 Australian design brands. The bar was raised for this edition and AIFF continues to grow on an impressive scale. Some things are just meant to be special.
One of its main highlights was the VIVID Design Awards, Australia’s longest-running design competition of AIFF and Decor + Design. These awards promote and help celebrate the promising work of emerging Australian designers that showcase their furniture and lighting designs at the fair. It’s all about the experience itself.
AIFF is also a symbol of craftsmanship, by dedicating an area to foster and grow Australian furniture, its designers and makers (AIFF Loves Homemade), and by delivering an outstanding line up of international and domestic design thought leaders (The International Seminar Series). We now have a smile upon our faces and we are already waiting for the next year’s edition!
