Daniel Romualdez Architects is an architecture and planning company based in New York. Seen as trendsetters and many of them already awarded, the art of decorating never looked better in the hands of these homegrown talents. And today, we highlight Daniel Romualdez Architects, a studio with a very sophisticated interior design project style. Have a look!
The famous interior designers defend that form follows function, stating “a home, no matter how beautiful, does not succeed if it’s not comfortable.” Known for his elegant and modern style, Daniel Romualdez’s work radiates grace and luxury experience into his homes.
One of the most renowned projects is a residential compound in the West Indies “brought up to date with modern conveniences while maintaining and reinforcing its historic character”. Also, a carriage house in Paris that has a “harmonious tension of old and new”, the perfect mix of styles that keeps things balanced.
Romualdez’s favorite city is Manila and the major influences on the studio are the works of artists like Louis Kahn, Tadao Ando, Billy Baldwin. The design inspiration, of course, comes from traveling and, surprisingly, from books.
While Romualdez is better known for creating richly layered interiors filled with objets d’art, he clearly possesses the kind of versatility that befits a long-established and celebrated designer. “I’ve been to his homes and have seen his range, which gave me a lot of confidence,” says Bennett, a close friend of Romualdez. “He made this house really feel like a home—and that’s one of the nicest things anyone can do for you.”
