#1 – Space Copenhagen

Space Copenhagen is a design studio based in Copenhagen, founded in 2004 by Peter Bundgaard Rützou and Signe Bindslev Henriksen. The studio is known for its interiors of high-end restaurants such as Restaurant Noma, awarded 1st by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, and Restaurant Geranium by Bocuse d’Or winner Rasmus Kofoed, as well as furniture designs for Fredericia Furniture, Mater, &tradition, Pilar Varón and Stellarworks. Manz is considered one of the leading Danish furniture designers of her generation. Erik Bagger and his wife Caroline Bagger have begun to design a furniture collection in 2013. Erik Bagger Furniture A/S was launched by Erik Bagger with his first complete furniture collection. Kasper Salto first trained as a cabinet maker before attending the Danish Design School, graduating in 1994. From 1994 to 98 he worked for designer Rud Thygesen. In 1997, he designed the Runner chair for Peter Staerk who made the chair famous in Denmark, but also abroad. In 1998 Salto opened his own design studio, working for companies such as Fritz Hansen, DubaB8, Engelbrechts and Lightyears. In 2003 he opened a new office, Salto & Sigsgaard, together with architect Thomas Sigsgaard.

Jakob Jørgensen is a Danish furniture designer who mainly works in wood. He collaborates with Line Depping under the name Depping & Jørgensen. He has exhibited at Galerie Maria Wettergren in Paris and has been represented on the Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition since 2009. In February–May 2018, he is one of four designers featured at the exhibition Helstrøm, Odgaard, Depping, Kørgensen at A. Petersen’s exhibition space in Copenhagen.

#16 – Bodil Kjær

Bodil Kjær worked as a senior architect at the Arup building consultancy in London (1967–69), has been a professor at the University of Maryland (1982–89) and has had studios of her own in Copenhagen (1960–65) and in London (1969–79). Inspired by the Modernist masters Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer, she has always given her work an international appeal. Her interior design work has included the development of furniture, lighting, and glass for a wide range of buildings from housing in the African tropics to factories, offices and universities. She has since conducted research into the future of cities and has worked as a planning and design consultant.

#17 – Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects

Vilhelm Lauritzen was born in Slagelse, Denmark. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, graduating in 1921. The following year he founded his own firm, Vilhelm Lauritzen Arkitekter, in 1928 and remained active in the firm until 1969. He died in 1984, but his amazing firm still lives on to this day and it is hellbent on preserving Lauritzen’s legacy and amazing vision. Some major projects included the national Danish Broadcasting Corporation DR Radio Building (Radiohuset).

Hansen enhanced her training in Paris working for Jean Nouvel Atelier and H5 but also in Japan at the Nippon Design Center. Following a long family tradition of Danish designers, she founded her design studio in 2009: The Hansen Family. Hansen’s work was exhibited at DesignMai in Berlin (Germany), at 100% Design festival in Seoul (Korea), at Artlab in Brussels (Belgium), at Benetton Group’s Fabrica research centre in Treviso and Bologna (Italy), at Salone del Mobile (Italy), at ICFF in New-York and at Meet My Project in Paris and in Milan. Hansen’s work was awarded by two Red Dot Design Awards and the Good Design Award.

#19 – Carsten Juel-Christiansen

Carsten Juel-Christiansen is an architect and professor of architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. He was appointed to the Committee for Architecture for the Culture Canon in 2005. He has simultaneously served as a practicing architect, from 1976 in his own studio, as well as teaching and research at the Academy of Fine Arts.
