Corey Damen Jenkins: Vivid Colors, Layered Patterns and Iconic Spaces
Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates is an internationally acclaimed interior design and decoration firm based in New York City. Founder, principal, and proud son of Detroit, Corey Damen Jenkins, is celebrated for mixing vivid colors with layered patterns to create inspired, iconic, and uplifting spaces, as well as designing furniture that brings the best of the classics into the present with panache and refined elegance.
Ann Arbor Residence
This project graced the front cover of House Beautiful’s March 2020 issue. A newly constructed manse, the CDJA team played a collaborative role with both the interior architecture and design process. The firm’s primary mandate was to create a series of spaces that projected etherealness and light, and to balance the creatively diverse visions of the two homeowners: the husband preferred clean lines and modernity, while the wife loved vibrant jewel tones and touches of traditionalism.
FLOWER Magazine Showhouse
Corey Damen Jenkins and Associates was a headlining interior design firm for the FLOWER Magazine Inaugural Showhouse in Atlanta, Georgia in November 2022. Corey’s three spaces, the Morning Bar, the Wine Room, and the Secret Speakeasy, were among the highlights of the venue with visitors donning the speakeasy as the “belle of the ball”. Corey sought to create an underground garden that embraced elegant and fashion-forward aesthetics in a space that flipped the narrative on “man caves” by designing the space with women’s relaxation top of mind.
Dallas Kips Bay
CDJA returned to the Kips Bay Decorators Showhouse arena in September 2021 with the unveiling of A Tent for New Beginnings in Dallas, Texas. This formal dining room installation boasts over 400 yards of shantung and linen on the tented ceiling and walls respectively. Considering the impact of the Global Pandemic on in-house dining, Corey Damen Jenkins decided to forego the traditional singular dining table and opted for two quartz tables: one could be used for dining, while the other could be utilized for homework or conducting business from home.
New Canaan Residence
Corey Damen Jenkins partnered with homeowners in New Canaan, Connecticut for the renovation of this 12,000-plus sq. ft. residence. Since the couple had purchased high-end furniture in the early 1990s (and in the spirit of being environmentally responsible), the team decided to reupholster and refinish over three dozen existing frames. Next, the firm rearranged the couple’s previously owned furnishings into updated floor plans alongside new furniture purchases. Jenkins also “shopped” the homeowners’ basement and attic, where he culled great old pieces that deserved a second life. A gilt trumeau mirror crowns a vintage sideboard; gilt-framed art pairs with a graceful demilune table. The homeowners and CDJA also made bold choices with paint and wallcoverings.

NYC Office
Featured by Architectural Digest as “an enviably chic atelier”, this bespoke and glamorous office space balances luxury with productivity while ultimately serving up the ideal environment for creativity to flourish. The initial visual impact is welcoming, ethereal, and elegant. It was highly important for the team, clients and visitors to enjoy coming here every day. Large skylights allow copious amounts of sunlight to pour down into the entry hall and reception area.
New York Kips Bay
One of Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates’ most celebrated designs, The Ladies Library (officially titled “To The Lady Of The House, With Love”) was a headlining space at the 2019 Kips Bay Decorators Showhouse. Although it was coined “The Gentleman’s Study” on the historic mansion’s original floorplans, Corey Damen Jenkins sought to redesign the library for a new mission: to become a command center for a sophisticated woman running a business and her household. Inspired by the ancient Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the remixed space features a soaring, 17-foot ceiling covered in a botanical motif with black branches and persimmon blossoms.
