Discover Inspiring Spaces That Go Beyond Trend With ETC.etera
Founded in 2016 by interior designer Sally Breer and stylist/creative director Jake Rodehuth-Harrison, ETC.etera (etc for short) is an interior design firm based in Los Angeles, California. With a focus on residential and hospitality projects, they aim to design spaces that go beyond trend and that are as easy on the soul as they are on the eyes. Let’s have a look at some projects!
Blackbirds | Residential
“This project was fun. Our client was a motorcycle-riding bachelor who truly would be happy living in the woods but landed in a newly built and modern Barbara Bestor space. The goal was to respect the space while honoring the soul of the client. We reframed the art that his grandparents left him in more contemporary clean frames with oversized mattes to bridge the gap between the old and new.” – Sally Breer
Oriel | Commercial
“I wanted the interior to feel like an escape from the outside world – sort of like a Dadaist escape from the current (political) state.” – Sally Breer
Hotel Covell | Hospitality
“I felt like I had put George to bed in Chapter 4 of Hotel Covell, so when Dustin called and said he wanted to add four more suites next door, it felt only natural that they’d be inspired by George’s daughter’s life. They often tell writers to ‘write what you know; I sorta did that for Isabel, with some deep personal daydreaming mixed in.” – Sally Breer
Hollyridge | Residential
“Utility and function were paramount on this project. We made the custom sectional out of ultra-durable vintage military tent so that their dog could enjoy the sofa with them and no one would be stressed about stains.” – Sally Breer
Firehouse Hotel | Hospitality
“I wanted to curate a small gift shop that allowed both guests and visitors alike to take a piece of hotel home with them. It was great to work with such talented LA makers to fill this space with fun objects.” – Jake Rodehuth-Harrison
Blake Avenue | Residential
“The art in my home is very special to me. The big lightning bolt painting in my dining room was done by my mama, who would not call herself a painter. She made it when she met my papa because she said it was how she felt when they met.” – Sally Breer
