Creative Director of Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci, was inspired by empowering women and their fight for power, resulting in a sensual collection connected to nature and Mother Earth. The Paris fashion week show began with models donned in fiery colored agate print slip dresses, with agate stones and prints being a major theme throughout the Givenchy Spring ready to wear show.
Agate stones have seen a rise in popularity within the design world for the past couple of years. Interior and fashion design is going natural and agate slices are a popular choice due to their durability, color options and fluid patterns of the stone. COVET HOUSE´s passion for exotic materials led the brand to incorporate these stunning semi-precious stones into several designs like the Vivre collection and Brilliance sconce, along with the selection of metallic agate printing wallpaper by Kimberly McDonald for Circa Wallcoverings.
Givenchy’s agates didn’t stop at the prints. Models adorned large agate slice and tortoise shell necklaces to embellish black jumpsuits and dresses. After the agate slip dresses and black pantsuits, Tisci carried the fiery color palette, intermixed with polka-dots and stripes, into evening and outerwear.
Givenchy finished their show with colorful printed mandalas on black dresses, flirty fringes and sparkling embroidered jumpsuits. Overall the show was powerful yet polished, much like an agate stone itself.
