LANSDOWNE
Illustrating a successful fusing of historical architecture with today’s modern lifestyle, Frank Ponterio’s design of the Conservatory brings comfort and luxury to this expansive space.
Ponterio’s design pays homage to the historical architecture of Benjamin Marshall by mixing existing elements with well-edited updates, including millwork, materials, and furnishings that are rich in attention to detail. Ponterio was inspired by the natural surroundings and sought to balance the interior and exterior, creating a room that epitomizes the art of casual elegance.
FOUR SEASONS RESIDENCE
Designed as an in-town residence for a friend, Frank Ponterio wanted to be sure everything in the home reflected the eclectic tastes and interests of the owner. Fantastic artwork takes center stage throughout, including bold limited edition prints of David Bowie by award-winning photographer Markus Klinko and modern abstracts by local painter Lonney White.
Textured and graphic wallcoverings also amplify the home’s visual intrigue, with hand-painted “Ink Blots” paper by Porto Teleo stealing the show in the guest room. Furnishings with unexpected forms and details — the unique design theme of this standout downtown Chicago residence that offers the owner easy access to the finest dining and entertainment the city has to offer.
