Los Angeles is home to renowned museumsunique hotels, diverse experiences and 75 miles of sunny coastline. The best way to discover LA is by exploring all of the vibrant multicultural neighborhoods. Shall we begin?

RESTAURANTS & CUISINE

Los Angeles has one of the most dynamic dining scenes in the country, offering everything from street food to Michelin-starred restaurants. Whether it’s a sleek, modern dining room or a casual oceanfront patio, diners can choose from an astonishing menu of global cuisines.

HUDSON HOUSE

(c) Hudson House – InsideSoCal

Hudson House was the couple’s inaugural effort, a 10-year-old business they named for their son, who’s now depicted snorkeling on a mural out front, trident in hand. The interior underwent a light and bright refresh in 2018. Now guests at the L-shaped bar and tables will find market-driven, Asian-influenced small plates like a ginger-brined chicken with colorful “unicorn” noodle salad.

BLACK MARKET LIQUOR BAR

(c) Black Market Liquor Bar – Thirsty in LA

Antonia Lofaso has become a breakout star. In 2011, she debuted Black Market Liquor Bar in the former Studio City home of the Victory Motorcycle Co., complete with an L-shaped bar, arched brick ceiling and reclaimed wood accents. Share-friendly plates might consist of meatballs with garlic crisp and basil, peel & eat lemon pepper shrimp, Sriracha-spiked shrimp toast, and deep-fried fluffernutter sandwiches.

SUSHI | BAR

(c) Sushi Bar – Eater LA

Phillip Frankland Lee and wife Margarita Kallas-Lee added sushi to the mix at their ever-evolving compound on Encino Place’s second floorSushi l Bar is an intimate eight-seat bar that resides behind Woodley Proper and showcases California ingredients in a 17-course, $110 menu. Don’t look for chopsticks and soy sauce, since they’re absent. Guests eat atypical dishes by hand.

PLACES, LANDMARKS & VENUES

Los Angeles attractions and tours offer something for the entire family, from state-of-the-art rides to walks through historic neighborhoods. Theme parks feature incredible thrills, while famous cultural attractions include the Getty Center, LACMA and Walt Disney Hall. Take flight with the Space Shuttle Endeavour, or time travel via Dinosaur Hall. Tour LA’s world-famous studios, explore LA by bus with Starline Tours and the infamous TMZ Tour or get some exercise with Bikes and Hikes.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY MUSEUM OF ART

(c) LACMA Museum

Located on the Pacific RimLACMA is the largest art museum in the western United States, with a collection of more than 142,000 objects that illuminate 6,000 years of artistic expression across the globe. Committed to showcasing a multitude of art histories, LACMA exhibits and interprets works of art from new and unexpected points of view that are informed by the region’s rich cultural heritage and diverse population. LACMA’s spirit of experimentation is reflected in its work with artists, technologists, and thought leaders as well as in its regional, national, and global partnerships to share collections and programs, create pioneering initiatives, and engage new audiences.

WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL

(c) Walt Disney Concert Hall – ArchDaily

Designed by Frank Gehry and considered to be an architectural masterpiece, Walt Disney Concert Hall is a modern marvel and a Los Angeles icon. Completed in 2003, it is the newest of The Music Center’s four venues, and home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles Master Chorale. Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the most acoustically sophisticated concert halls in the world, providing both visual and aural intimacy for an unparalleled musical experience. The auditorium is configured in a “vineyard” style, which allows for seating on all four sides of the stage.

CALIFORNIA SCIENCE CENTER

(c) California Science Center

The California Science Center is a world-class educational resource and family destination featuring hands-on exhibits and inquiry-based education programs serving a diverse community of learners. Located in the heart of Los Angeles in historic Exposition Park, the Science Center is open to the public 7 days a week, 362 days per year, with free general admission to its four major exhibit areas.

HOTELS

Travelers have an incredible range of hotel options for staying in Los Angeles. Families can stay near LA’s famous theme parks and attractions at a number of conveniently located hotels. Los Angeles is synonymous with luxury and glamour, but there are also value hotels throughout the city for budget-savvy travelers. A new generation of modern, hip hotels offers everything for even the trendiest of travelers, while guests of LA’s historic hotels can walk the halls and stay in the same rooms that legends once called home.

MILLENNIUM BILTMORE HOTEL

(c) Millenium Biltmore Hotel – Discover Los Angeles

At a time when this area was still evolving and finding its identity, the arrival of the opulent Millennium Biltmore Hotel in 1923 was a “statement to the rest of the world that Los Angeles had arrived as an American metropolis.”. Its impact was undeniable and its grandeur would become an integral part of the history of the city.

WESTIN BONAVENTURE HOTEL & SUITES

(c) Westin Bonaventure Hotel Suites – Discover Los Angeles

You’re inspired by dramatic urban statements and dreams of tomorrow — welcome to your spiritual home, the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Downtown L.A. The largest and one of the most photographed hotels in Los Angeles, its iconic, neo-futuristic towers were Instagram gold even before Instagram was a thing, so take selfies at will.

EVENTS & EXPERIENCES

Los Angeles is often billed as the “Creative Capital of the World” because one in every six of its residents works in a creative industry, and there are more artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, dancers and musicians living and working in Los Angeles than any other city at any other time in history.

THE ART OF THE BRICK

(c) The Art of the Brick – Buffalo News

Budding engineers and artists will be equally enthralled by the masterpieces Nathan Sawaya has intricately crafted with over 1,000,000 toy blocks. (No, that number is not a typo.) Visitors who love dinosaur activities will gawk at the artist’s 20-foot T. Rex, which is comprised of over 80,000 pieces alone. Until December 31st 2021, creative youngsters will enjoy Sawaya’s recreation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, along with the exhibit’s interactive elements, as well.

RISE FESTIVAL

(c) Rise Festival – Festicket

As cathartic and communal as it is visually stunning, the annual Rise Festival marks the release of thousands of illuminated lanterns into the night sky above the Mojave Desert. The two-day festival outside of Las Vegas kicks off in the afternoon with hourly music sets, and each night culminates in a massive, simultaneous lantern release just after sunset—and we do mean massive, with thousands of attendees expected.

LA DESIGN FESTIVAL

(c) LA Design Festival – Los Angeles Times

The LA Design Festival will return in 2022. The organizers hope that everyone takes this time to recharge and get ready for a 100% IRL program next year. The theme in 2022 is “Design for Change” because the entire world has changed, and we’re all figuring it out as we go.
