Señorio de Marbella
This was a total renovation project, consisting of layout changes in order to maximize the space. Originally offering only 2 bedrooms, after cleverly studying the space, Lord Designs created a third bedroom, opened the kitchen up, and added a separate utility room, a second living area, and also a dressing room in the master suite. The layout of an interior plays a fundamental role and can make or break a property. The finished result of this reform offers spacious bedrooms and a practical layout. Lord Designs created 3 new bathroom suites and designed the interior doors, wardrobes, and also the open plan kitchen. The interior and exterior flooring was changed and also new windows were installed. With regards to the interior design, the second phase of this project – the Mediterranean floods into the interiors of this holiday apartment. The colors of the ocean play an important role – emerald greens, intense blues, sunny yellows, and deep teals. The backdrop for these bold colors is pure white – giving a clean and light feel to the space. Each room is airy and calm.
Las Lomas de Magna Marbella Club
This holiday home was renovated in order to make it a homely residence for a large family to enjoy. The existing interiors had a very masculine feel and were very dark and uninviting. A fundamental change that was necessary was to change the floor on the ground floor. The existing dark floor was removed and a warm wood look tile was installed – instantly creating a whole new feeling to the space. The floor design is crucial and must not be forgotten. An existing and unwelcoming office was converted into a second lounge – a practical place for the children to escape away from the formal living area. 4 bedroom suites were individually designed to suit the tastes and requirements of each child. The children’s rooms are more playful with more colors, whereas the master suite was decorated in a calm neutral color scheme. The ground floor, consisting of the living and dining areas, is all of a neutral color scheme. In order to bring interest and movement to the look, Lord Designs played with contrasting textures and patterns. An injection of black into the formal living area gave the room that punch it needed, a bold contrast to the taupe tones. All hard furnishings were custom designed by Lord Designs’ carpenter, including natural wood patrician screens, oversized coffee and side tables, and a made-to-measure dining table. The interiors were finished off with large rugs, and statement feature wallpapers. The main living area features a natural bamboo wallcovering which added a new dimension to the room. Geometric patterns play an important part in the interiors and are introduced in most rooms through upholstery fabrics, scatter cushions, wall coverings, and throws.
Midtown Gibraltar
This newly built one-bedroomed apartment was transformed into an ideal living space for a single person or couple to live comfortably. Selected walls were clad in solid wood panels, feature walls were wall-papered and oversized artworks were installed. Applying these layers of wall coverings, Lord Designs created depth to the space, combining contrasting textures and finishes. Dark woods, somber greys, and smoked glass give the space a serious look – which is complimented by splashes of color seen in scatter cushions – adding a pop of life and an aspect of playfulness.
Doncella Beach
This beachfront penthouse was designed in order to provide Lord Designs’ client with a carefree holiday in a cheer full residence. Bursts of “joy-full” colors take pride of place in this interior design. Connecting the interior with the exterior, Lord Designs reflected the blues and turquoise from the sea via vibrant scatter cushions and artworks. Warmer accent colors were also introduced, such as mustard, peach, emerald green and dusty pink. The main entrance and living area windows are flamboyantly dressed with stunning “puddle” curtains, creating a rich and cozy feeling. Other windows boast fresh linen voiles and roman blinds. The master suite hosts a power full floor-to-ceiling headboard which just oozes importance – this really is a bold statement piece. The Natuzzi sofa takes pride of place in the living area, complimented by the delicately designed custom-made furniture in champagne and ivory tones. Each room is chaptered by oversized fluffy rugs that make you just want to curl up on and relax.
La Isla Puerto Banús
This was a construction and interior design project. For the construction phase, Lord Designs re-designed the layout of this apartment – converting the existing small kitchen and bedroom into a large master suite, adding an open plan kitchen in the living area, and adding a guest toilet. The re-design of the layout made the apartment much more practical, up-to-date, and most importantly feel spacious and inviting. They created an en-suite bathroom for the master bedroom, added built-in custom-designed wardrobes, a complete kitchen, and also new flooring throughout. For the general interiors, Lord Designs uses light and neutral tones in order to create a fresh – summery feeling – adding punches of unique colors to each individual room. For the terrace area, they used more daring accent colors, such as pops of mustard & splashes of marine blue – creating an informal and playful look. For the master suite, Lord Designs used bold midnight blue accent colors to create a more important and bold feel. The living area was designed with a calming feel – using subtle mint greens, off whites, and cool greys. A lovely holiday home for our clients to enjoy.
Soto De La Resinera
This contemporary holiday home was designed with a fresh, modern, and neutral theme. The clients wanted a neutral look, keeping the interiors clean-looking with a minimal theme. This is a family residence, and although is monochrome throughout, each room boasts a fun aspect in some way, either with a funky custom-made headboard design, abstract artwork, statement wallpaper, or play-full mirrors. The lower level boasts a youth-full multi-purpose room, where the first splashes of color are present – a great space for all the family to enjoy.
Mansion Club
The living area of this apartment was furnished with a neutral color pallet, with splashes of vibrant colors introduced through the accessories. Playful scatter cushions in contrasting colors and textures plus several feature walls with bold printed wallpapers really brought the interior to life and added interest. The master bedroom was designed with a totally neutral color pallet of taupe, beige and cream, giving it a calm & timeless feel. The other two bedrooms were for “young adults” to enjoy, so were designed with a youthful approach – using combinations of brave and fresh colors. Contrasting combinations of patterns are used in abundance throughout the apartment, making it a welcoming holiday apartment for this family to enjoy.
Dominion Beach II
As in all Lord Designs’ projects, the main objective is to maximize the potential of the space available, transforming the property into a more luminous space. In this case, the apartment consisted only of 1 master bedroom with a small dressing room and bathroom, a separate kitchen and living room with a fireplace that wasn´t used plus a guest toilet. The appearance was very dated. The client’s request was to create two bedrooms each with its own bathroom and more social living space. The works included removing the existing kitchen and opening it up completely into the living room with a breakfast bar. This in turn expanded the space to place a dining table and made a much wider living area without the fireplace. Lord Designs created two bedrooms; A master bedroom with built-in wardrobes and an en-suite bathroom, a guest bedroom also with built-in wardrobes, and a separate bathroom with a bathtub. They designed the two new bathrooms plus new flooring and lighting throughout. Lord Designs also installed new air conditioning in each room. This project was completed in a 6-week turnaround.
Playas Del Duque
As well as undertaking the interior design of this project, Lord Designs also undertook the reform of the apartment, bringing it up to date. Originally, this was a very dated and dark 1 bedroomed apartment. Lord Designs changed the distribution, in order to create a second bedroom and bathroom. They converted the small existing kitchen into a children’s bedroom, placed an open plan kitchen in the living area, and designed an en-suite master bedroom. They installed new flooring throughout, two new bathroom suites, new windows, interior doors and wardrobes. The ceilings and lighting were also re-designed. The exterior area was also reformed, with new flooring, built-in seating, and modernized lighting. The interiors were kept as light and airy as possible, making the rooms brighter and appear larger. Lord Designs added splashes of marine colors in the living area – bold bursts of midnight and sky blues were introduced in the soft furnishings – connecting the interiors to the colors seen in the nearby marina. The master bedroom was made to look luxurious and welcoming, with warmer tones, such as mustard and accents of dusty pink. They applied subtly textured wallcoverings to feature walls – adding interest and depth to the interiors. The terrace consists of pure whites, creating a clean and fresh look. Lord Designs introduced pops of electric blue in exterior scatter cushions and smaller accessories.
Arcos De La Frontera
This was a total transformation project, including construction work as well as interior design. Lord Designs managed all aspects of the building works from start to finish and then went on to decorate each room of this 5-bedroomed 3-story villa. The reform included new interior and exterior flooring, new bathroom suites, kitchen, and terrace design. The property was tired and dated and in need of an update and refresh. The client’s brief was a “Modern/Moorish” look – to connect the interiors with the spirit of the old town in Los Arcos De La Frontera. Lord Designs took design inspiration from Arabic influences and fused them with clean lines of contemporary design. Each room is dressed with its own initial accent color, bringing life and personality to each room.
