Centre Georges Pompidou
Open since 1977, the Centre Georges Pompidou is a hymn to modern and contemporary art. Besides being one of the city’s most distinctive buildings, it’s also home for inspiring works by Picasso or Matisse. There, you can also find a gallery for children, an art bookshop, a cinema and a restaurant.
Galerie Kreo
Galerie Kreo is definitely one of the best design galleries in Paris. It mainly consists of design limited and exclusive furniture pieces, as well as vintage lighting. If you’re into Naoto Fukasawa, Hella Jongerius or Marc Newson, this is the right place for you to be and spend some quality time.
Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris
The Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris is where art deco furniture gets mixed with an international display of contemporary art. There are also often excellent temporary exhibitions. It belongs to the Paris Museum Network and it’s surely a good place to start your art trip.
Musée d’Orsay
Giving space to the impressionist and post-impressionist masterpieces on the top floor, it has art nouveau galleries downstairs. Blending different styles is what makes the Musée d’Orsay such a jaw-dropping experience. Consider buying tickets ahead to avoid the endless queues.
Galerie Patrick Seguin
Galerie Patrick Seguin‘s main goal is to promote and publicize some of the best French artists that combine product and architecture. The gallery was designed by Jean Nouvel, who won the Pritzker Prize in 2008, and hosts a lot of works by Le Corbusier, Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand, among others. Truly unique.
Musée du Louvre
The Musée du Louvre is the biggest art museum in the world and also a historical monument that should be seen by everyone. It receives millions of visitors every year and has approximately 38,000 art pieces from prehistory to the 21st century. If you’re attending Maison et Objet 2018, make sure you don’t miss it!
