For more than 30 years, Martin Gomez has been creating architecture that is dedicated to the environment and people’s lives. Martin Gomez, an architect who graduated from the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires, established the firm in Punta del Este, Uruguay, in 1990. He opened the Buenos Aires branch six years later.

Since then, the practice’s extensive output has created its own distinctive style that has left its mark on both banks of the Rio de la Plata. In their work, Martin’s life philosophy and the factors that shaped it as a result of his experiences are evident: a conversation with nature, harmony in order, light, the nobility of materials, and outdoor life.

The creation of intermediary spaces is crucial to them. A recurring theme throughout their works is the use of galleries, decks, and transitional spaces that connect the indoors and outside. The company collaborates from both offices to take on projects in various settings, whether in the peace and quiet of the beach or the countryside, as well as in the complexity of the city and is committed to carrying out assignments that include private homes, restaurants, hotels, apartment buildings, and real estate developments. One of them includes the comprehension of the distinctive features of each site, attained by extensive fieldwork that takes into account geography, climate, and topography. The project’s physical identity develops from this point.
