The only requirement was to have an open space and a lot of natural light, for that the architects knock down all the existent internal walls and roll out a new plan incorporating the additional bedrooms and bathrooms around a central and open core for a living. The living room and kitchen were divided with a sliding steel and glass pocket door, giving an amazing look to the heart of the family home.

All the windows allow light enter into the loft during the daytime! Other of the main goals was to maintain some of the historic character and raw spirit of the place, which Lang Architecture polished and refined to reflect the new modern identity of the loft.

All the steel and cast-iron beams and columns were exposed and repainted, graduating from structural necessities into design features, while new finishes and surfaces were applied to the masonry vaults and factory strip maple flooring creating clean lines across space.
