The look is youthful and laid-back, yet the purpose is clear and unmistakable. Chef Arnaldo Azevedo’s observant eyes have an irreverence to them that shows in the boldness of his creations. It began with a family business, where he found his love of cooking. He begins his career in the family restaurant, where he carries the same name and call as his father, before enrolling in the Culinary Course at the Santa Maria da Feira Hotel School. Other events in his life shaped his course and defined his personality in the kitchen. He comes to Vila Foz Hotel & Spa after a long and successful career in which he was in charge of both the Vila Foz and Flor de Lis restaurants.

The interior design was done by Nani Andrade Silva. The Vila Foz Hotel & Spa Interior Design Project is born from the refinement of over a century of history and the metamorphosis of romantic inspiration that represents the existing building’s structural versatility. The Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is notable for maintaining a high level of refinement while paying homage to the building’s construction period (the last decade of the nineteenth century), as well as its principles of elegance and rational spatial distribution.

Atelier Nini Andrade Silva sought to preserve original elements while emphasizing symbols, aesthetic idiosyncrasies, and architectural elements sublimated by details, whose expressiveness will be felt in the quality of materials, perfection of finishes, smoothness of textures, and richness of decorative elements, both in the existing building and in the new building built from the ground up.
