JBID – Jessica Boyer Interior Design is a Chicago-based boutique design studio passionate about curating one-of-a-kind interiors.
Jessica Boyer believes home is the place to resonate with your own personal philosophy on life. Be it a place filled with richness and collections or acquisition of life experiences on which to reflect and appreciate or a place Open Light and Free of objects – creating space for the unsheltered imagination to expand within it. Her talent does not go unnoticed, with her interior design masterpieces, brilliant use of materials, and constant flow of design inspiration.
Every life lived differently.
Each space designed accordingly.
When asked about what defines her look, Jessica Boyer says: “I would say my style is contemporary with an eclectic edge. I love to add in really unique pieces that have a lot of attention to detail. I custom make most of the furniture I use in my projects and this allows me to play with and mix materials and finishes which makes each piece unique. I think my interiors reflect a combination of international styles and influences fused together to create an overall clean, chic effect. I find my inspiration all around me: from my travels, locally and abroad, to magazines, design shows, and browsing Instagram.”
Jessica Boyer has always loved drawing and crafting things for as long as she can remember, whether it was working on a school project, cutting and pasting things together in a rather uninteresting and boring way, or putting together her art portfolio in Matric. The designer remembers vividly that creating a cardboard chair in her second year at The Greenside design center was the project that stood out the most. The biggest inspiration for the brief was Frank Ghery’s wiggle chair. That’s when she recognized her passion for design.
For Jessica Boyer “The most challenging thing is trying to get the client to see your ‘end vision’ without being able to show them something physical and tangible beforehand.” Despite this, the designer knows how to convince her clients that she is a perfect fit for them.
