Living Room With A Dreamy Solarium In New York by Katherine Newman, the master of using the hybrid language, which rejects trends but rather looks to the past, embraces the present, and considers the future.
Katherine Newman Design is a multi-disciplinary design company, based in Canada, that combines various services such as architecture, interior design and decoration, landscape design, and construction project management. Each project is not bound and/or defined by a single style but rather done while taking into consideration every important aspect such as the space, function, and the unique requirements from the clients. Synthesizing various and divergent aesthetics, Katherine is able to use her diverse knowledge of historical and modernist details to create an original and remarkable bespoke work!
Following her philosophy that the exterior and interior of a building are essentially related, we can see the extraordinary work Katherine did with this luxury condo, where the living room has 43-feet of space with a solarium right beside it. With nearly 700 square feet of glass-enclosed outdoor space, and with a balcony off of that space, which is very rare in New York, this living room is considered a luxurious billionaire’s row duplex.
To give a coveted touch to this living room, we decided to give you some suggestions of some of our handcrafted pieces so you can recreate the look! Behold the Tellus armchair by Brabbu with twill fabric, nailhead trim, and back legs in matte lacquered to add subtle sophistication. Followed by the Minx center table by Koket that has a structured geometric frame coupled with an exotic blend of metals and a mirrored top. Next, we have the Niku pendant lamp by Brabbu that features a structure in gold plated brass, filling any home decor with exoticism. And last but not least, the Cell neutral rug by Rug’Society that shows that a bold graphic design and a creation without limits goes a long way!
